Dreamers and Undocumented Students

IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING OSU AND ARE AN UNDOCUMENTED or DACAmented STUDENT, HERE ARE SOME GOOD STEPS TO FOLLOW

Step 1

Determine if OSU is a good fit for you by exploring our culture and our majors. If you are a Graduate Student, explore our Graduate Admission website.

Step 2

Make sure you meet admission requirements. 

• Freshman/First Year Admission Requirements

• Transfer Admission Requirements

• Graduate Admission Requirements

Step 3

Apply to OSU. Make sure you have a completed application and that you meet the Admissions deadline which vary depending on the term and whether you are a first-year freshman, transfer, etc.

You will also:

• Complete a domestic student application, select “non-US Citizen” for citizenship status.
• Use all nine’s (999999999) in the Social Security Number (SSN) section to complete the application (unless you have an assigned SSN through DACA).
• Learn more on how to apply as an undocumented student on our Undocumented Admissions website.

Step 4

Find out if you are eligible to pay in-state tuition based on Tuition Equity requirements. Tuition Equity or House Bill 2787 makes some students eligible to pay in-state tuition at Oregon public universities. Also, Tuition Equity students can now receive financial assistance in Oregon because of Senate Bill 932. Tuition Equity requirements are:

• attended elementary or secondary/high school in the U.S. for at least five years;
• studied at an OR school for at least the three years prior to earning your high school diploma or GED;
• graduated from an OR high school or received a GED in OR; and
• show intention to become a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Are you eligible for Tuition Equity?

• If YES, then complete a tuition equity affidavit.
• If NO, then complete a tuition equity statement.

You will be required to hand-in one of these documents once you apply for your application to be considered complete.

Identify OSU resources and plan ahead for paying for OSU!
